We offer horsemanship sessions for at risk and homeschooled youth, special needs individuals and their families, veterans, and other members of our community in an effort to educate, mentor, encourage, and support. In addition, we provide therapeutic programs for overcoming trauma, abuse, grief, and other challenging circumstances. We also work to prevent animal cruelty by rescuing and providing a safe and loving home for mistreated, abused and neglected horses. Our motto is “Loving God, Loving People, Loving Horses.” All activities of the Corporation shall be conducted in accordance with this mission statement.
In 2021 after years of owning, training and enjoying horses of their own, Gene and Sharon decided to begin a horsemanship class to pass on their faith in God and knowledge of horsemanship. What began as a word-of-mouth class and weekend outlet, quickly became a call to full-time ministry and the desire to impact as many as possible in their community with their beloved motto, “Loving God, Loving People, and Loving Horses.”
Currently, God has blessed Uncle Gene’s Horse Riding Farm with 15-20 horses, several of them being rescued from situations of abuse or neglect. We are committed to continuing the rescue, rehabilitation, and training of horses while providing a safe and loving environment for both animals and people. Nestled on approximately 80 acres, our farm offers space for horses to thrive, programs to grow, and community members to gather. God has abundantly provided the horsemanship equipment, facilities and resources needed to help participants in our sessions to learn, grow and experience the unique connection between horses and humans.
Our Farm partners with other local organizations that serve youth and families facing various kinds of challenges. Uncle Gene’s offers sessions tailored to the needs of the children being referred.
We utilize a variety of avenues to bless our community and share our love of Jesus. Our riding lessons help to build our youth wrangler program, which is an integral part of the volunteer side of our ministry. These lessons also help provide funding for our sessions with disadvantaged youth, veterans, and special needs individuals which we are grateful we can offer free of charge. We host several special events each year with the goal of connecting our community, supporting our ministries, and sharing the love of Jesus through horses. We are blessed to offer a fully functioning facility where individuals and families can find encouragement, education, healing and hope.
“And now, O Lord…give us, your servants, great boldness in preaching your word. Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” Acts 4:29-30
In all circumstances, be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, demonstrating His love in all we do. 1 Cor. 12:27: “All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.”
Safety is our number 1 priority while at the farm. Everyone must follow the safety rules to ensure both humans and horses are safe at all times.
John 13:34: “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.” Love one another. Respect the farm, horses, and others. “Do unto others, as you would have done unto you”.
John 15:11: “I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!”
His joy will be in us and it will complete us. We offer hope and healing for the hurting and lonely. Including sessions for people who have lost a loved one.
Horses provide an opportunity to see yourself as if looking in a mirror. They replicate feelings and respond to those around them, allowing the true identity of yourself to be seen.
Horses feel human emotions and react according to the human actions presented to them. Romans 12:15: “Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep.”
Work effectively with staff, board members, volunteers, and partners to achieve goals.
Using resources responsibly and efficiently to maximize the impact of funds and resources. 1 Peter 4:10: “God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”
We strive to continue evolving and adhering to our mission and vision through our impact on the community.
We seek to create long-term viability of Uncle Gene’s and its programs.
We desire God’s wisdom to have the ability to adapt and overcome challenges and setbacks.
We long to have an impact on enabling individuals and families to take control of their lives and future.
